My Objective is to Help You Achieve Yours
Ratings for Sex, Violence & Profanity
© Fred Nickols 2015
Many people
are tired of and frustrated by the current movie rating system (G, PG, PG-13, R
and NC-17). They don’t believe it
tells them what to expect in the way of content related to sex, violence or
profanity. A 12-year old girl burned
a CD using a computer at her elementary school and it had language on it that
would make a sailor blush. We are
seeing (and hearing) things on TV that, while they might not make a sailor
blush, are not the kinds of things many people want their children watching or
hearing. So, a new rating system is
herewith proposed – and it applies to CDs, radio shows and TV shows as well as
movies.

The rating
scales for the nature of the content are tentatively and illustratively defined
as follows:

I’m very
interested in what others think about this rating system.
